Fish Where the Fish Are posted by John Sorensen on Mar 01, 2018
I bet if you’re a fisherman, you know this axiom to be true, “Fish where the fish are.” Did you know that applies to witnessing too?
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International. There is a clear analogy to evangelism in that statement. After all we’re to be fishers of men — and we know where the fish are. But our problem is usually that we would rather talk about fishing around other fishers of men without ever venturing to where the fish actually are. Well, what would you think of a fisherman who never actually put his boat in the water, never baited his hook, and never caught a fish? Would you even call him a fisherman? If we are to be fishers of men, shouldn’t we be out there engaging with others, sharing our testimony, and telling them about the difference God can make in their lives? If you agree, dip your toe in the water and try fishing this week. Need help with your testimony? We have a free, on-line testimony building tool to help you do just that.
