International Students posted by John Sorensen on Aug 10, 2018
Have you ever thought about starting an International Student Outreach through your church?
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, president of Evangelism Explosion International for Share Life Today. Many of us live near colleges or universities that have international students who are hoping to meet people in the community. Start by asking campus officials – perhaps a Faculty Coordinator – if you can offer the students some special activities. Then have a “meet and greet” cookies or pizza night on campus. Have church members mingle and find out where the students are from and what they’re studying. Then pair students up with families and begin planning outings. Plan some group outings but also include some one-on-one times too. Of course, offer to pick them up for Sunday service, invite them into your home for a meal, take them sightseeing and so on. You’ll be amazed how appreciative the students are and you could have a lasting impact on them for Jesus Christ.
