Arrogance? posted by John Sorensen on Oct 27, 2017
The Bible is clear when telling us in 1 John 5:13, that we can know for certain that we’ll be in Heaven with God someday. But what if someone questions your certainty and calls you arrogant.
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International. Actually, it’s not arrogant at all to have the assurance of your salvation. Instead, it’s humble to be certain because as believers, we understand that our relationship with God depends on Jesus’ perfect life, his death, and resurrection and not on our “works.” Because of Jesus we can have absolute certainty that we have His approval and life everlasting. You know, it’s more arrogant to believe that Jesus isn’t enough and that we need to do something to save ourselves. Instead, believers count on Jesus’ righteousness and not their own. I hope this helps you as you share life today. For free tips and tools, including our Answers To Tough Questions resource, visit us at ShareLife.today.
