Bad News and Evangelism posted by John Sorensen on Oct 18, 2016
When can death and bad news possibly be used for good?
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International. There is no shortage of bad news in the world. And as such events are discussed throughout your day, they could very well lead to spiritual conversations. A person’s conversation about death, or a tragic current event could lead you to tactfully ask them if they know for certain that they themselves have eternal life in Heaven with God? You could even tell them that there is a verse in the Bible that says, “These things have I written that you may know you have eternal life.” Then you could ask them, “May I share with you how I came to know that I have eternal life?” You see you’ve just created a natural transition into your own testimony and you’ve even asked for permission to share it with them. So remember, conversations about bad news in the media might lead you to introduce the most wonderful news about Jesus Christ. Need help writing your testimony?
