We’ve all seen him — often at the end of exit ramps from the interstate. Usually he’s holding a sign indicating that he’s in need. As we come to a stop, we look away awkwardly.
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International. Well, Michael always felt awkward too and he wanted to help, but he didn’t want to just give cash. He came up with an idea and sprang into action. Using a box of gallon size zip lock bags, he has three categories as he fills them: toiletry and hygiene. . . food and nutrition. . . and spiritual literature including a Bible and a Gospel tract. Now, when he sees a person holding the “I need assistance” sign, he’s ready. He gives the person one of each of the three bags, stating that the most important one is the one containing the spiritual reading material.
What a practical example of personal witnessing that we can all try. To learn more and catch Michael’s excitement for this project, watch his interview at ShareLife.today.
