Are you a spiritual sponge?

This is John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International.  You know we’re all spiritual sponges to some degree. We attend Sunday school, Bible study, church worship.  We absorb all of the teaching and for some of us that’s the extent of our Christianity.

What we neglect is the important work of sharing our faith with others.  I remember a youth pastor was casino talking about his students and how they were “taking in” and “taking in” with Bible studies and other ways that we get fed spiritually. But what they needed was to “wring out” like a sponge. And he said that wringing out was the sharing the Gospel with others that allowed them to wring out all that they had learned and to put into action their faith.
