Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. When you think of examples of giving thanks in the Bible, you probably think of David singing Psalms, the early church gathering together and singing hymns or the story of the leper who gave thanks to Jesus for healing him. But does your mind ever go to Daniel? You know, Daniel and the lion’s den? Here’s why this is a great reminder to be thankful: Daniel refused to stop praying to God and giving Him praise, even when the King issued a decree making it illegal. As a result of Daniel’s faithfulness to God, he was thrown into a den of lions, but not to his demise. God protected Daniel. In Daniel 6 verse twenty-six, King Darius saw that God was with Daniel, and he issued a new decree: that the people must revere the God of Daniel! King Darius said: “He rescues and He saves…” And God still does! If you want to learn how to become an effective witness, visit Share Life Dot Today. Happy Thanksgiving!
