Doug the Trucker posted by John Sorensen on May 19, 2021

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.

It was my very first night of On the Job Training. My trainer, Tom, my team, and I drove out into the country on a Monday evening. We knocked on the door of a trailer home, and this giant man named Doug answered and invited us in. That night, Tom shared the Gospel with Doug. I’ll never forget the moment when that great big burly trucker got down on his knees in front of his lime green lazy boy chair and accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. I found out years later that Doug’s life drastically changed that night. He ended up painting a cross on the side of his semi-truck; and everywhere he stopped, he would invite truckers to come and sit and listen to the Gospel. Doug led literally thousands of truckers to Jesus all over the country. Talk about the investment of one evening in somebody’s life. Doug, a seemingly average guy, became a faithful witness and an unsung hero of the faith. To learn more about sharing the Gospel, visit share life dot today.
