EE Discovery Week equips new candidates for ministry posted by jwatson on Feb 28, 2013

A report from Randall Wood, EE US Field Staff Coordinator

Closing EE Discovery Week at the foot of the cross in SW Missouri

Four folks from FL, KY, OK and CA came to the US Training Center at The Brook on February 4-8 to attend Discovery Week.  The goal is to ascertain God’s call upon the life of the candidate.  During this week the candidate discovers their strengths, their call and their role in ministry.

Candidates learn how to raise necessary support for their missionary position through Ministry Partner Development, the candidates get a comprehensive overview of the EE ministry, and all highlighted by participating in EE’s international day of fasting and prayer.

On Monday National Director Fred Kress welcomed the candidates by Skype. Tuesday’s Prayer & Fasting for the Nations was especially eye opening for all.  EE President John Sorensen & South Region Coordinator Jim Stewart joined us for the Day of Prayer. Later that week Dr. Sorensen shared his vision along with the history of the ministry.  Joy Levins, VP of Operations, and Comptroller Craig Watkins (by Skype) guided the candidates through the Staff Handbook and key financial aspects. Fellow EE staffers Dennis & De’anna Want, and Nyle & Judy Bosier enriched times of informal sharing at meals and breaks throughout the week. We were blessed to have Cheryl, one of our ministry partners from Ohio, serve as our chef for the week.

We concluded our time together with a special prayer time at the Cross.
