EE Helps Restore Lives in the Midst of Devastation posted by jwatson on Feb 19, 2014
In November 2013, a super typhoon leveled parts of the Philippines. With help from our EE Director for the Philippines we strategically selected three priority areas to respond to Jesus’ call to assist. The goal was to reach 5,000 families from these three priority areas utilizing three components: humanitarian relief, spiritual ministry, and structural rehabilitation.
Work is ongoing and complete reports have yet to be filed. But EE has already started a church in Tacloban City, where 120 adults and 50 children worship. They currently meet under a tent, but with EE assistance, a new church will rise from the rubble. An architect has begun drawing up plans. Construction of another EE church in Tacloban is under way.
By God’s grace, EE brings hope to survivors:
- Praise the Lord for over four thousand families served through EE Philippines relief operation
- Praise the Lord for 3,500 individuals from among the typhoon victims who heard the Gospel and made professions of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ through EE-trained witnesses
- Praise the Lord for the Phase II of the project that is rebuilding at least 30 local church buildings fully and or partially destroyed by the typhoon
Please continue to pray for the Filipinos as they recover from this devastation. And pray for the Lord’s guidance upon the EE ministry throughout the world.
It’s your prayers and financial gifts that enable us to continue the worldwide outreach of Evangelism Explosion. Please give a gift today.
