EE Philippines Working to Aid Region Hit by Monster Storm posted by John Sorensen on Nov 11, 2013
More than 10,000 people may be dead in the Philippines after a killer typhoon delivered a devastating punch to the central part of the nation with winds of 185 mph and a tsunami-like storm surge.
People who have gone several days without food are looting stores, even Red Cross relief trucks.
“I am a decent person. But if you have not eaten in 3 days, you do shameful things to survive,” one man in Tacloban City told a reporter for AFP while foraging for canned goods as flies buzzed nearby over dead bodies.
“We have no food, we need water and other things to survive.”
Evangelism Explosion International has pledged to send financial assistance to EE Philippines as it works to bring help to the devastated region.
“The Lord God be praised!” Bernard Henson, the National Director for EE Philippines, told me by email when he learned of our pledge to help.

Bernard is in contact with Rnell Arsenal, an EE field worker who serves the area where Typhoon Haiyan swept across the nation. EE Philippines is working on a plan to provide relief that is sure to include spiritual aid, prayer, and the Gospel.
Please join me in asking God to bring speedy relief to Filipinos without food, water, or shelter in towns, cities, and fishing villages, some of which have been flattened by the storm.
While EE is not a relief organization, we want to assist EE Philippines to bring aid as well as a shoulder to cry on, prayer, and true hope in Christ.
I’ll follow up with more information about the effort in a few days.
If you wish to send a gift to help EE Philippines bring relief into the hard-hit region, you can give now on our secure online site where we have set up a special donation button.
Funds given through this special online giving button will be directed to EE Philippines to help those who are suffering from the overwhelming impact of this monster storm.
Please pray and, to help now, click here to donate.
