Evaluate and critique. They’re a necessary part of evangelism.
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion international. I Peter 3:15 tells us to always be prepared to give an answer for the hope that is in us and 2 Timothy tells us to study to so show ourselves approved. So, if we’re to be effective in sharing our faith we need to evaluate our progress in the presentation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Here’s one way to do that. After you’ve had an opportunity to share the Good News, ask yourself questions like these: Did I get their attention and hold their interest? If not, why, and what can I do to change this the next time? Did I confront the person clearly with the need to make a decision for Christ? If not, how can I do it better? Questions like these will better prepare you for the next opportunity God gives you to share “the hope that is in you.”
