Father’s Day posted by John Sorensen on Jun 11, 2019

Over and over again throughout Scripture, you’ll notice that God is referred to as a Father. Now, that may seem strange to those who don’t know Him, but as believers, we know that the Lord desires to have a relationship with us and take care of His children just as a father should. The perfect illustration of God’s Fatherly love towards us was given to us by Jesus in the Parable of the Prodigal Son.

I’m sure you’ve heard this before – the son asks his father for his inheritance early, leaves his family and takes off to indulge in all the world has to offer. It was short lived because the son was reckless and squandered everything he had been given by his father. He hit rock bottom and came home. Here’s the good part: when the son comes home, the father doesn’t turn him away or say, ‘I told you so.’ No, instead, the father saw his son coming in the distance and ran towards him and threw him a party!

Everything that the father had, belonged to the son again. His place in the family was restored. This is the God the Father’s heart for us! He will come running, if we will only turn back to Him.

So, here’s my challenge to you – share the love of the Father with someone this week who needs a relationship with Him. Tell them how you’ve experienced a personal relationship with the Lord and how they can experience that same relationship.

This is our focus this week at Evangelism Explosion through our social media channels and our daily broadcast. Visit ShareLife.Today for resources that will help you share the grace of Jesus with others.

May God richly bless you this week as you bring others into His family!
