‘It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.’ Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International for Share Life Today. Galatians 5 verse 1 talks about our freedom in Christ, and encourages us to live in that freedom. We could never earn our way into Heaven, but sometimes we forget that and try to add up our works. This only creates a burden and deep disappointment. Next time you talk to someone about Heaven, ask them this diagnostic question: “If you were to die today and God said, ‘why should I let you into My Heaven?’ What would you say?” If their answer is that they’re a good person, gently direct them to the Gospel and explain that there is freedom from works in Jesus.
