How much do you look like Christ?
Galatians 5:22-23 says, ‘but the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!’
You see, if we’re walking in the Spirit – really spending time with the Lord, we will see the same characteristic traits that Jesus has, in ourselves! Now, we will never get it right 100% of the time because we are human. However, if we will truly look to Jesus as our Lord and Savior, He will produce that fruit in us.
Notice that the Fruit of the Spirit is not simply being a good churchgoer who knows it all and appears perfect. Not even close. The first characteristic is love.
The Gospel of John chapter 13 records Jesus saying, ‘your love for one another will prove to the world that you are My disciples.‘ If we will love others, they will be drawn to us, and we can then point them to the One who produces that fruit in us!
Psalm 16:2 says, “Apart from You, I have no good thing.” We cannot produce the Fruit of the Spirit by ourselves. We must admit that we need His Holy Spirit to do this work in us and then we need to stick close to Him!
When we’re bearing the fruit of these nine Spirit filled characteristics, our lives will be a lot more appealing to those around us, and nonbelievers will want what we have. The good news is that we can share what we have!

May God richly bless you this week as you walk with the Lord.
