God is Faithful to His Promises posted by jwatson on Dec 12, 2011

The simplicity and sufficiency of the EE gospel presentation:

Our response to a God who is faithful to His promises:

In presenting the gospel, we can say with rock-solid conviction that God keeps His promises on time, every time.  Speak about the promised Seed, the promises to Abraham, to Israel in Egypt, to David, to Solomon, to us, each one fulfilled to the letter.

The new covenant promise, sealed with the blood of Jesus

Why is it important to tell people that He is the God who keeps His promises?

Many people have experienced the tragedy of broken promises. Broken marriages, deceitful political campaigning and financial scams, to name just a few. Is it any wonder that many people are skeptical, cynical, unable to trust, unable to risk further hurt? What wonderful news it is, to reveal to those who have been deceived so often that God has sealed His covenant with the blood of His own beloved Son. He has promised to save those who trust in Him from sin, from death and from condemnation. He has promised to forgive us completely “as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.” Psalm 103:12 NIV. He has promised to raise us up on the last day, and He has promised us an eternity of blessedness in His kingdom. Now THAT’S GOOD NEWS!

Many who have received Christ as Lord and Savior can give testimony of how they feared death, so much so that they refused to think about it or talk about it, how they lived a life of cynicism and distrust. And how, having received Christ, that has all changed. Now the person’s life is characterized by a sense of absolute safety and security, of courage, of a willingness to risk for the sake of others, and a realistic approach to relationships, being neither overly-dependent or scared of intimacy, because all of us are human and fallible. The one relationship that matters, the relationship with Jesus, is forever.

Praise the Lord, He is unfailing in His faithfulness. That we can depend on with absolute hope.

“For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.” 2 Corinthinas 1:20 NIV

That is why

When sharing your faith, tell people that Jesus Christ died, the perfect sacrifice of a perfect life, to make every promise of the Father sure and unshakeable, because of His shed blood.

You can count on Him.

I am not ashamed; for I know whom I have believed and I am convinced that He is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him until that day.”
