Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
What characterizes your typical attitude, gratitude or grumbling? The Bible has a lot to say about both and there’s a connection between this topic and being an effective witness for Jesus. I would suspect that if you’re a grumbler, any exhortation for you to become an active witness for Christ would be met with, well, grumbling. Gratitude is prominent in the Bible and should be in us as well. Gratitude is based upon the belief that God is good, sovereign and in control of all things. It’s grounded in trust, not in circumstance. Gratitude leads to a greater appreciation for the Good News of the Gospel. When you know God’s Word, you will trust Him and praise Him. So, attention all grumblers – ask the Lord to change your heart to a heart of gratitude. And attention thankful hearts – gratitude is the best breeding ground for you to become a Gospel witness.
