12-year-old Lee and her Dad arrived at the last minute for the start of the 5k race, or so they thought.

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International. Unaware that a half-marathon was starting before the 5k, Lee, who had only been running for two months, rushed to the starting line. Just so you know…a 5k is 3.1 miles…a half-marathon is 13.1 miles. Soon, sensing something wasn’t right, she asked a fellow-runner who informed her that she was, in fact, in the half marathon. And when you are running, 10 miles is a long distance!! So, what did she do? She persevered…and to the amazement of her father, mother, and herself, she finished the race! The Bible teaches that living for Christ in this sinful, fallen world is full of challenges. It’s a life-long marathon. But Jesus tells us that “the one who perseveres to the end will be saved.” So, keep running. And while you’re at it, bring someone else along in this race we call life. Need help sharing your faith?
