Hope in Tanzania

It’s one of the most difficult places on earth . . . but  just a few days ago, Easter was celebrated there for the first time. And you made it possible. More than 150,000 people are packed into Nyagarusu refugee camp in Tanzania—three times the number it was built to hold. Refugees sleep on mats inside windowless pole-frame shelters wrapped in thin white plastic.

The plastic keeps out the rain, but not mosquitoes or the malaria they carry. It is a harsh and for many, hopeless, existence. When Augustin Minani fled civil war-torn Burundi to this overcrowded camp in 2015 he took his EE flipchart along. Trained in EE, he began sharing Jesus and equipped other believers to do so, too.

He also asked EE for help, and this past February, we held two clinics inside Nyagarusu camp—training 66 people, including many pastors and key church leaders, to tell others the Good News. Fifty-five people gave their hearts to Christ during the training . . . but that’s just the beginning.

Now Augustin and these newly trained pastors and lay people want to win this camp for Jesus. You helped make this happen! Because of you, Christ’s light is invading this place of poverty and despair. But without the love and commitment of friends like you, none of this would have ever taken place.

Your gift really does matter. That is why I invite you now, to give. Your generous support will bring new life in Christ to people across the world.

As you know, the risen Jesus left you and me with marching orders, telling us, as
His followers, to “be witnesses to Me . . . to the end of the earth” (Acts 1:8 NKJV). That is job one, but 2,000 years later, it is still not done. Almost 2 billion people have not yet heard about Jesus. Some don’t even know His name.  I’d like to change that. How about you?

Our goal to give every human being on earth a chance to hear about Jesus—and receive the free gift of eternal life. But that won’t happen without the financial support of friends and partners like you.

In 2016, it cost just $.95 for every precious individual won to Jesus through EE. That makes EE one of the best investments you can make to spread God’s kingdom . . . and see your sacrificial gift turn into lives changed for eternity.

So, let me ask you, how many people would you like to bring to Jesus? By God’s grace, the number of people won to Jesus each year through EE has jumped from 6.3 million in 2010 to 10.7 million last year. In just the last six years, we’ve seen more than 58 million people make professions of faith in Jesus Christ. God is giving the increase, drawing men, women and children to himself by the millions through EE each year. But it only happens if friends like you give. And your help is urgently needed now.

Will you make a generous gift today of whatever amount God leads you to give?

When you donate, I want to say thank you by sending you the new book, Moses: A Man for the Ages. It’s a fresh retelling of the life of Moses from my pastor, Jim Dykes, a speaker and author who uses EE to lead his vibrant North Carolina church in sharing Jesus. You’ll be captivated by the drama in Moses’ life and its direct relevance to the challenges you face in your own life. And it’s yours in warm appreciation for your generous gift today. Please let me hear from you right away.

I’m so grateful for your partnership with EE—and how God is using your generous heart to bring new life in Christ to people everywhere.

Together, in His service,
