Hundreds Flock to EE Training in Africa posted by jwatson on Jul 11, 2013
It was unexpected. Planning and details were in place for an EE training event in Lilongwe, Malawi. Malawi is known as the warm heart of Africa and never was that more apparent than during the training event.
EE implementation field workers and interns assisted with the training. They anticipated 250 children and 100 adults to participate, which would constitute one of the largest EE training events ever! Instead, those numbers were turned upside down to the sheer delight of the field workers and interns.
Arriving like an army were 500 children and 300 adults to be trained. The field workers and interns were thrilled with the turnout, rolled up their sleeves and did not skip a beat. People were divided into groups, materials were shared and the training was conducted smoothly.
During on-the-job training, 150 adults made professions of faith in Christ. Matt Moffett, EE Coordinator in Africa, said that there were so many professions of faith by children that they lost count.
Matt summed up the event in five words, “It was a great day,” he exclaimed.
