Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
What’s the most intimidating part of sharing the Gospel with someone? Typically, people say that starting the conversation is the hardest part! Instead of forcing the conversation in a certain direction, earn the right to ask personal questions. In today’s world, this probably means keeping your distance, wearing a mask and taking the time to listen to the other person. Find out where the person is spiritually and pray that the Lord would give them a desire to hear the Gospel. Then ask for permission to share the Gospel. An easy way to witness is to first share your own story and then to let your friend know that you are sure where you will spend eternity. Ask them kindly, “may I share with you how I made this discovery and how you could know it, too?” Asking this question will keep the person from feeling like you’re forcing the Gospel on them. Always share the Gospel with grace! For more, visit our website at Share Life Dot Today.
