Icebreaker posted by John Sorensen on Jan 09, 2019
Everyone take a turn and describe yourself in three words… Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International for Share Life Today. No one likes to be put on the spot, but sometimes people come up with the worst icebreakers, making conversations forced and awkward! Don’t be that person when sharing your faith! Instead of forcing the conversation in a certain direction, earn the right to ask personal questions. Really listen to your friend. Find out where the person is spiritually and pray that the Lord would give them a desire to hear the Gospel. Then ask for permission to share the Gospel. An easy way to share the Gospel is to first share your own sotry and then to let your friend know that you are sure where you will spend eternity. Ask them kindly, “may I share with you how I made this discovery and how you could know it, too?” Asking this question will keep the person from feeling like you’re forcing the Gospel on them. Listen tomorrow for more tips on making friends for kingdom advancement! If you need help witnessing and leading your loved ones to the Lord, visit ShareLife.Today.
