Ken and Stephen posted by John Sorensen on Sep 20, 2017

When you head to church this weekend, will you go with the idea that it’s your pastor’s job to lead people to Christ?

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International.  Well, here’s the truth.  It’s just not so.  The Scripture makes it very clear that we’re always to be ready to give an answer for the hope we have, no matter what day it is.  Here’s a great example. Recently, Ken met Stephen at church.  And while chatting after the service, Ken’s ears perked up when Stephen mentioned a different faith background.  So he asked Stephen a couple questions.  What he learned was that he was basing his hope of spending eternity with God on works plus Jesus – meaning Stephen had to do something so that God would do something.   Well Ken wasn’t about to miss the opportunity to explain to Stephen what Jesus accomplished on the Cross and what He meant when He said, “It is finished.”  The next Sunday, Stephen found Ken and said, “I can’t believe it.  It’s so different this week.  I feel like a weight has been lifted.”  If you need help sharing your faith, watch our video at
