October is Pastor Appreciation Month, have you thought of some ways to thank your pastor?
I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, for Share Life Today. We know that being a pastor is not easy and that there can be seasons of discouragement and loneliness. But according to a survey published by LifeWay, they found that 98% of pastors still felt that it was a privilege to be a pastor! Now, what are some ways to thank them for their service? I’ll give you three: First, pray for them. Prayer is the simplest yet most impactful thing you can do. Second, write them a note. Has there been a sermon that spoke to you recently, or maybe your pastor made a house visit to pray for you? Send them a hand-written note to tell them thanks. Third, learn to share the Gospel. Show your pastor that it is not just his job to lead people to Christ, but your job as well. To help you say thank you we are offering free, the book “For God and Country” by William J. Federer. It is an excellent resource for pastors who want to use quotes from our founding documents that show our Christian heritage. For more information visit sharelife.today.
