Do you remember your life before you came to know Jesus Christ? If you do, I think you will understand the deep struggle in the following story.

Please allow me to introduce you to a man we will call Paldeep. Paldeep was so desperate to find God that he was willing to do anything, including taking his own life because he thought, “If I can’t get God in this life, I will get Him in the next.”

He was what is considered a “holy man” in his culture. But no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t, in his own words, “get God.” This was no ordinary man. He was highly intelligent, well-educated and multilingual.

Paldeep tried church, meditation and even Scripture. To say he was desperate is quite an understatement. Thankfully, his suicide attempt failed miserably.

Fraught with despair about being unable to “get God” he even threatened the pastor at the Christian church he started attending. In the midst of the attack, the pastor calmed him and persuaded him to pray a prayer of commitment. Can you imagine the depth of this man’s bewildered soul? His thirst for God was insatiable.

Fortunately, he followed the encouragement of the pastor.

And then the seemingly impossible happened. I call it a miracle of God. While he sat praying, he had a miraculous encounter—with the Savior of the world, Jesus Christ—Who clarified true faith for him! Like Moses at the burning bush, this holy man’s eyes were opened. He was converted in a flash.

Today, he is fully equipped using Evangelism Explosion’s Weaver’s training materials to reach his people group for Christ, a method he calls “the best non-threatening approach I have ever seen.” He believes strongly in the Weaver’s approach, built on the power of story telling, and weaving stories over time to gradually find common ground, which is so critically important in reaching unreached people groups for Christ. It works!

And now, it is clear that God has called Paldeep to reach his people group for Christ. He is a visionary who sees safe houses where those who are persecuted for their faith in Jesus can be sheltered. He sees the critical need for a Bible institute so his people can learn Scripture in their own language. When you meet God’s grace in person, ideas and ministry flourish.

Because of the sensitivity of the Weaver’s materials he says, “When we use Weavers, we are not getting persecuted for sharing our faith!”

This is one example how, for more than 50 years, EE has been helping people tell their stories to transform others with the Gospel. All of this is possible by God’s grace and your support.
