Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
How did you first hear the Gospel? For most of us, someone communicated it in our own language—whether through a conversation or some other means. In Oceania, many do speak English; however, there are many unreached peoples who speak hundreds of different local languages. Island churches normally disciple their congregations in how to share their faith in English. Well, during twenty twenty, there was a shift in this thinking— and our team, who train congregations all across the Pacific, started exploring how to offer training in other languages. The use of the internet helped native speakers start equipping believers to share the Gospel in their own tongue. For example, in Fiji, there is large population of Hindi speakers; and last year, they had their first ever evangelism training in Hindi! They have started to grow Hindi trainers who can continue to teach this way. To hear more stories from Oceania or to learn how you can share your faith, visit share life dot today. That’s share life dot today.
