Next First Step posted by John Sorensen on Mar 16, 2020

What is the first step to walking with Jesus? Faith! We must first have saving faith before anything else. We have to believe that Jesus can do the things He says He can do, and we have to put our full trust in Him.

You know, it’s the same with sharing our faith. We must be willing to trust that Jesus can and will do what He says He will do – that He can save to the uttermost and that He will never leave us nor forsake us. But we have to take that first step of faith.

As believers, we get ready for that first step to witness by spending time in the Word, learning to share our faith and practicing what we might say. Get started in learning how to share the Gospel by visiting ShareLife.University and taking our free online Gospel training course, GO2020. It will set you on a path to share your faith confidently and effectively.

If we never actually take that first step, we’ll never know what we can do for the Kingdom!

Your first step might be asking a friend to have coffee with you because you have something you’d like to share with them. It could be walking up to a stranger at the laundromat and asking them if you could ask them a couple spiritual questions, or it could be going to an Equip America or Share your Faith Workshop where you can actually go out and share your faith alongside other believers who are taking their first steps as well.

No matter what your first step is, take it in faith, and know that the Lord is right there with you, cheering you on as you bring others to Him!

This is our focus this week at Evangelism Explosion through our social media channels and our daily broadcast. We’ll be taking steps of faith to share the Gospel.

May God richly bless you this week as you walk in faith.
