How do you build a good spiritual foundation for the young people in your church?
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International. The answer is simple. Equip your students to share the gospel! An essential part of that is to have them write their testimonies, which, by the way, is a great way to gauge where they are spiritually. You might think teens who’ve been in church all their lives already have a testimony thought out, but you’d be surprised at how many don’t! A great way to get started is to ask them these three questions. ‘What has God done in your life? How are you acting different because of that change? What hope do you have for the future because of what he’s done?
Pastor Joe tried this recently with the youth in his church and was surprised at what he learned. In fact, he wishes he’d done it sooner and plans to make the testimony exercise a regular part of the youthgroup. Need help with your testimony? We can help.
