You may be familiar with the half-silent comedy/magic team Penn and Teller.  But did you know that the speaking half of the team – Penn – is an outspoken atheist?

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International. Now Penn Jillette calls evangelism – proselyzation. But here’s what’s interesting and sobering.  He asks the question, “How much do you have to hate somebody to not proselytize?” He goes on to ask, “How much do you have to hate somebody to believe that everlasting life is possible and not tell them that?” Wow! Penn even goes so far as to say that if he saw a truck barreling down on someone and they weren’t getting out of the way, he’d tackle them. Now, I’m not suggesting we tackle anyone but how about talking to them so they’ll know how they can be in Heaven with God someday and how they can have life to the full now. Some may not want to hear but at least we’ll know we cared enough to tell them and hopefully they’ll realize it too. I appreciate Penn’s challenge. I hope you do too.
