Are People Open to the Gospel? posted by John Sorensen on Nov 08, 2016

Recently, I was in Livingstone, Zambia with a short-term mission team and I asked local pastors if people were open to hearing the Gospel in their town.  How would you answer that question about your city?

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, president of Evangelism Explosion International.   As I travel the world, I talk to people and I ask questions.  So when I ask pastors or, for that matter, laypeople if people in their city are open to talking about God, I’ll usually get a resounding, “No.  They’re not open at all.”  At which point, I usually say, “Let’s go try and we’ll see.”  How better to encourage someone to share their faith than by showing them it can be done.  And that’s what we did with a group of pastors in Zambia.  In fact, Bishop Eric couldn’t believe it when in one day of on-the-job training he and his team had 17 people pray to receive Christ. Can you imagine?  Now, let’s be clear.  This is the Holy Spirit’s doing but He uses us in the process.  For more God stories, visit ShareLife.today and watch our videos from our trip to Zambia.
