Prophecy Fulfilled posted by John Sorensen on Dec 09, 2019

Have you read much Biblical prophecy? Now before you glaze over, you should know that there is a very good reason for all of the prophecies throughout Scripture.

Biblical prophecy is a roadmap of sorts. God has told us what to look for, what will happen and what to do!

The most important prophecies pointed to the Messiah. They pointed straight to Jesus!

For example, Daniel prophesied the time Jesus would come, in Daniel chapter 9. Galatians 4:4 tells us this: “But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law…” Jesus came at just the right time!

Genesis chapter twenty-two shows us through the story of Abraham being willing to sacrifice Isaac, that the Messiah would be a willing sacrifice for our sins. We see this fulfilled by Christ’s willingness to die when He was praying in the garden. He could have stopped the soldiers at any moment, but He didn’t. He laid down His life for you and me.

Now, all of that leads to this – that Jesus would be the Light of the world. Isaiah 42:6-7 contains beautiful prophecy about Jesus, and the Lord says the Messiah would be a “covenant for the people, a light for the nations, to open the eyes that are blind…” Jesus says in John 8:12, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” If you know Him, you know this to be true.

I just mentioned three prophecies. Jesus fulfilled all 333 Messianic prophecies. Every single one!

So, if we know that Jesus fulfilled all of these prophecies, we must come to the conclusion that God’s Word is true. And if His Word is true, we should follow His commandments. This means we must preach the Gospel to the ends of the earth!

This is our focus this week at Evangelism Explosion through our social media channels and our daily broadcast.

May God richly bless you as you become a student of His Word!
