Dear friends of EE,

It is with deep sadness that I announce to you the homegoing of Rev. Reynaldo Isidro (Rene) Atienza and Stella Dumloa-Atienza.  Rene has for many years been a member of the Board of Directors for Evangelism Explosion International, starting in 1989.  Rene first became part of EE in 1982 in the Philippines after joining the Board of Directors there.

Rene was a top clinic teacher for EE, launching the ministry in many nations around the world.  Just over a month ago, I had the privilege to help Rene and the team from EE Philippines teach Rene’s last clinic, attended by dozens of pastors in Pakistan.

Pastor Rene went home to be with the Lord at 12:05 pm PST, August 22, 2021. Stella also went home to be with the Lord on August 19, 2021 at 4:40 am PST.  Both passed after a struggle with COVID.

Dr. David Self, EEI’s Chairman of the Board said, “While this is certainly sadness on earth, there is a coronation in Heaven! The lines of people in Heaven waiting to greet Rene and Stella, as a result of their influence and witness, will be long indeed!”

A memorial service for Rene & Stella will be held on August 28, Saturday, at 10:30 a.m. (Philippine Standard Time).
