Sharing During the Holidays posted by John Sorensen on Nov 04, 2019
It’s that time of year again…The holidays are fast approaching, and that means lots of extra gatherings…parties…money being spent…and family time. Now, before you get anxious or roll your eyes or run away screaming, hear me out. Make up your mind to do as Philippians chapter four says –
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7)
Now that you’re going to give all of your holiday frazzle to God – go. Go into all the world and preach the Gospel. Even in the living room or at the dining room table. Share the Good News because each relative and friend you’ll be seeing over the next couple of months is loved deeply by God.
Trust Him that He is already laying the groundwork, but we need to be obedient to share.
So, first, pray. Pray for your loved ones’ hearts to be softened toward the Gospel. Next, make yourself available and look for opportunities to share at your next holiday gathering.
Remember to be kind – everyone has their own opinions, and while you may feel that yours are right and theirs are not… always go back to the Gospel, not your political or social opinions.
Listen without judgment and let them come to their own conclusions about what you’ve shared. It’s the Gospel that has the power to save! Speak the Gospel and share life throughout this holiday season and beyond.
This is our focus this week at Evangelism Explosion through our social media channels and our daily broadcast. We have resources to help you share life during the business of the holidays at ShareLife.Today.
May God richly bless you this week as you look forward to this season of thankfulness, joy and hope.
