I’ve said it before and I’m going to say it again. Not everyone sitting in church has the assurance of their salvation or even knows what it means to be a Christ follower.
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International. We really do tend to think that if someone is in church, they’re a follower of Jesus Christ. Now, most may be, but what about the ones who aren’t? And how do you find out? Well, one way is to take part in the fellowship time after the service. I get it, we often want to catch up with our friends during that time, but keep an eye out for new people – whether just new to you or new to your church. Think back to what it was like the first time you walked into church? Did people go out of their way to make you feel welcome? If you’re an introvert, like me, you may have to push yourself, but do it anyway. Get to know people. Show interest. Ask questions. If they are a visitor, put yourself in their shoes – it’s just possible that they had to work up the courage to walk into your church. And that may be the first step they face in coming to know Christ. For more tips and tools and even a video to help you share your faith, visit ShareLife.today.
