The Gunman Faces a Question posted by John Sorensen on May 01, 2018
Here’s an amazing example of the transforming power of the Gospel.
Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International. Jon is the son of Missionaries who served in Sao Paulo, Brazil. His dad loved EE and told him this story before he died and Jon recently passed it on to me. One Saturday evening his dad was heading to a bus stop after an evangelism training session at church. While waiting for the bus, a man jumped out and put a gun to his head. The gunman told him his next words would be his last so he should choose wisely what he wanted to say. Well Jon’s dad asked the gunman, “If you were to die tonight, do you know where you would spend eternity?” The gunman was so moved by the man’s concern for him that they both went back to the church that night and he gave his life to Jesus Christ. He eventually became a deacon in the church. That, my friend, is the transforming power of the Gospel. Do you know how to share your faith with someone in need today?
