A Thriving Ministry

EE Impacting Ecuador

Alongside EE Argentina and EE Peru, Evangelism Explosion Ecuador had its origin in the early 1980s, where they served as headquarters for what was known as “EE International Clinics.” All of this was a central part of the “Encuentro” Program of the Christian and Missionary Alliance (ACYM) in Latin America. This program began in the Lince District of Lima in 1973 and expanded to Quito, specifically at the Batán Church, during the second half of the eighties. The criteria for a church to be part of the program were threefold: being located on a main avenue, having a pastoral body, and implementing EE.

The main churches for EE training and expansion, in addition to Batán, were Nueva Jerusalén in Quito, Centro Cristiano in Guayaquil, ACYM Guayaquil Norte, and Manta.

Notable figures include Roberto and Mark Searing, Diego Arias, Silverio Corredor, Mauro Serrano, Irma Moncayo, and Carlos Varela, among others. Currently, EE Ecuador is in the process of reclaiming the status of those times under the leadership of Jonathan Proaño, our National Director.
